Greenpeace South Asia – Bangladesh: POSITION: LEGAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

This position is only open to the candidates that have legal rights to live and work in Bangladesh. 

This position is offered on a 06 month Fellowship contract on a full time basis initially, with possibility of extension Location: The position is hybrid (home-office). We offer competitive NGO level allowances, the specifics of which depend on location where the successful candidates will be based. We aim to share this information with candidates before reaching the offer stage.

This fellowship offers an opportunity for individuals passionate about environmental law, human rights, and public interest litigation to contribute meaningfully to Greenpeace South Asia’s work while developing their own legal research and advocacy skills.

Purpose and Objectives of the fellowship 

The Legal Researcher will support Greenpeace South Asia’s campaigns by:

? Providing legal research and analysis on issues related to environmental law, human rights, and climate justice.

? Supporting litigation efforts, where applicable, by drafting legal documents such as petitions, briefs, and affidavits.

? Monitoring legal developments, including legislative changes, court rulings, and relevant case law in South Asia and internationally.

? Collaborating with campaign teams to translate complex legal language into accessible information for campaigns, media, and public communication.

? Assisting in the design of legal strategies to support Greenpeace’s objectives in areas such as Climate Justice, ocean conservation, public transport, and the High Seas Treaty.
