Google LLC failed to protect consumers on its platforms from advertisers that offer fraudulent US trademark filing services, according to an arbitration complaint.
Despite Google’s policy requiring certain classes of advertisers, such as US doctors, to complete verification programs, there are no checks on advertisers offering trademark filing services to ensure that they are licensed US attorneys in good standing, law firm LegalForce RAPC Worldwide PC said in an American Arbitration Association filing obtained by Bloomberg Law.
