Prof. Tom Ojienda holds a Doctorate degree (LLD) from the U. of South Africa, a Masters of Law degree (LLM) from King’s College London and a Bachelor of Law from U. of Nairobi, and holds a postgraduate diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law and a Diplome de langue from Alliance Francais de Paris. He taught Property Law, Proprietary Rights and Transactions, Professional Ethics, Gender and the Law of the Sea at Moi University for the past 9 years, served as a Commissioner in the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission established after the 2007-2008 post-election violence in Kenya, and Chair of the Land Acquisition Compensation Tribunal  in Kenya. He taught and supervised one master of Philosophy student at the school of Environmental Studies, taken part in the Annual African Universities Human Rights Moot Court series organized by the Centre of Human Rights University of Pretoria and has presided over court sessions in several African Universities. He has been involved in the establishment of the Legal Aid Clinic at Moi University and the Juvenile Legal Aid Project of the Rift Valley Law Society.

Lara Eid obtained a law degree from Lebanese University in 2006. In 2009 she received a Masters from International Telematic University (UNINETTUNO) in Italy. She speaks English, French, and Arabic. She completed legal consultancies for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (The Hague) in 2010 and 2013. She frequently consults with NGO’s on international law issues with a specialty in refugee and migrant worker matters. She is an active member of the Beirut Bar Association Human Rights Institute.

Colin Fong is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales and has also taught law at Western Sydney University, University of Sydney, University of Technology, Sydney, the University of Notre Dame Australia and Macquarie University. Colin worked as a librarian with the Australian School of Taxation (Atax), and with a large Sydney law firm. He has written extensively on legal and taxation research.

Francisco A. Avalos joined the James E. Rogers College of Law in 1982 as the Foreign and International Law Librarian. His area of expertise is Latin American legal research with an emphasis on Mexico. He has written extensively and made many presentations in this area of the law. Mr. Avalos has served as Secretary-Treasurer and Chairperson of the Foreign, Comparative, and International Law SIS of the American Association of Law Libraries, and served on the Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals Advisory Committee. His current research interests include legal translation and the pre-Columbian legal systems of the Americas. The third edition of his the book the “Mexican Legal System” been released. He updated his article on the legal citation for the 20th edition of the Blue Book. He just completed his most recent monograph titled the “Legal History of Mexico: The Discovery to the Present (William Hein Publications). Mr. Avalos retired in 2009 and now dedicates himself to writing and doing consultant work.
