Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. Announce Two New Partners In Hong Kong

Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. has elevated nine senior associates and four senior counsels from core practice areas to join the firm’s global partnership spanning 16 cities worldwide….

The new Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. partners are: Jody C. Bishop, Dallas; Michael S. Chamberlin, Los Angeles; Steve Dollar, Dallas; Marsha Gerber, Houston; Julie Hardin, Houston; Marc Latman, New York; Barclay Nicholson, Houston; Jason Rother, Houston; Guy Singer, Washington, D.C.; Hassan Elsayed, Dubai; Ben McQuhae, Hong Kong and Jie Zhang, Hong Kong. Also, Anibal Sabater was admitted as a partner in Fulbright & Jaworski International LLP.

Jie Zhang handles international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, cross-border investments, structured finance and other international transactions, primarily involving the People’s Republic of China. Zhang has represented multinational clients in industries ranging from oil and gas and chemicals to transportation, automotive and general manufacturing. Zhang received his J.D. from the College of William and Mary in 1999. He received his first B.A. in 1985 in English Language and Literature, and a second B.A. in International Cultural Studies in 1987, from Beijing University. Zhang, who is a native of China and fluent in Mandarin Chinese, was admitted to practice law in New York in 2000 and in the District of Columbia in 2002.

Ben McQuhae focuses on oil and gas, coal and other energy -related transactions in Asia. He represents international and regional oil companies, private equity interests, start-ups and investor groups in connection with energy M&A transactions, development projects and financings. He has been based in Hong Kong since 2001 and joined Fulbright in 2004 to help further develop the firm’s energy practice in Asia. In 2007, he was seconded to an international oil company in Jakarta, Indonesia. McQuhae is a 1994 graduate of the University of Exeter, England. He was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1999.
