The role covers a wide area of administrative and professional skills and is ideally suited to either a recent post grad or somebody pre-library school looking to gain practical legal library experience. It is a very busy team, split over two sites and the successful candidate will be busy and have a great opportunity to develop a range of skills.

Administrative tasks:
•To manage the ‘Check in’ of serials, distribution of new books and loose-leaf updates
•To update library management system as orders are delivered by external suppliers
•To maintain library collections e.g. shelving, checking in on-loan books, labelling old editions
•To assist with processing invoices e.g. checking accuracy
•To claim for missing issues of journals or loose-leaf update
•Promotion of online alternatives, e.g. informing stakeholders, placing and updating links to online in the catalogue and wiki.
Enquiry inbox support:
•To order books and other items from agent (following procurement policy)
•To photocopy articles and law reports from the various London library collections (supporting Legal Research team in Manchester)
•To answer queries about database access issues as appropriate
Library move support:
•Provide support for the process of moving printed material to offsite or discarding
•Provide support for the reduction in size of the nine practice based libraries
•Updating LMS to reflect any changes that are made to the collection
KEY REQUIREMENTS
•Preferably the candidate is either looking for a one year pre- or post- library graduate qualification placement;
•Some experience of working in a team, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment;
•Previous experience working in a library (corporate or professional services organisations preferred);
•Confident manner and with high level of communication skills both written and verbal;
•Demonstrable ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure;
•Demonstrable organisational skills and attention to detail
