Legal artificial intelligence company Lexlegis.ai has appointed Mr. Mahendra Chaturvedi as Senior Vice President – Sales.
Mr.Chaturvedi joins from LexisNexis, where he was Director – Sales from April 2018. He brings thirty years of experience in the Indian legal information and publishing sector.
He began his career in the sector at LexisNexis in August 2003 as Regional Manager – Sales (India), a position he held until September 2006. He then spent over a decade at Thomson Reuters, joining as Assistant Sales Manager in November 2006 and progressing through the roles of National Sales Manager and Senior Sales Manager before being appointed Assistant Vice President – Sales in March 2013.
Mr.Chaturvedi left Thomson Reuters in April 2017 for Newgen KnowledgeWorks, where he served as Assistant Vice President – Sales for a year, before returning to LexisNexis in April 2018. He has been based in the Delhi region through most of his career, and has worked across institution, channel and enterprise sales.
In his new role, Mr. Chaturvedi will lead the company’s sales function and customer engagement across segments including law firms, in-house legal teams, professional services firms and institutional users. He will also be responsible for building out the field sales organisation as the company expands its enterprise business.
The appointment comes as Lexlegis.ai moves from a research platform towards a wider set of operational legal products. The company’s platform is organised around three core modules. Ask answers legal questions from a curated library of Indian statutes, judgments and circulars, with responses linked back to their underlying sources. Interact works against uploaded case files, producing summaries, chronologies and clause comparisons. Draft produces first drafts of legal documents.
In April 2026, the company introduced MIRA (Machine Intelligence and Reasoning Assistant), a configurable agent product that groups the platform’s capabilities into defined skills which customers can assemble by function. MIRA is presently available in beta as a hosted service, with on-premise and desktop deployment options at the request stage.
Lexlegis.ai’s data lineage runs back to 1998, when the founding team launched a search engine covering income tax and allied tax decisions. Work on a large-scale judgment database began in 2004, and in 2014 the team developed the National Judicial Reference System for the Government of India. The Lexlegis.ai platform itself was launched in 2025, and the company has said it is extending coverage to United States case law.
