DESCRIPTION: The Alyne Queener Massey Law Library at Vanderbilt University seeks a creative, energetic, and highly customer-oriented librarian to join our team. The Foreign & International Law Librarian will provide legal reference and research services, work closely with the international law faculty, and teach legal research classes in the first-year Legal Research & Writing program. The person in this position will also participate in the development of course materials and teach in upper-division legal research courses, and will develop instructional programs for international law faculty and the Jessup Moot Court. This position reports to the Associate Director for Public Services.

Education/Experience: J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and M.L.S. or equivalent from an ALA accredited library school. Two years related experience preferred, but will consider entry-level candidates.
Job Related Skills: Substantial knowledge of legal bibliography and legal research process in both print and electronic formats. Expertise in foreign and international legal research. Teaching interest and ability. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong service orientation, and the ability to interact positively with law faculty, students, colleagues, and public patrons. Strong technology skills and knowledge of current trends in instructional and educational technologies. |
