Florida Attorney Sues Governor Over Non-Closure Of Beaches

A Florida attorney is suing Florida governor Ron DeSantis because he hasn’t ordered all Florida Beaches to close during the coronavirus pandemic, according to The Hill.

The governor signed an executive order on Friday forcing beaches in Palm Beach and Broward County is close. Since then, Indian River County said they will close their beaches starting Monday.

According to the filing, Daniel Uhlfelder who filed the suit, has urged DeSantis multiple times to close the remainder of the state’s beaches, but DeSantis has yet to do so.

“The Governor has the responsibility to initiate immediate action to cope with the emerging health problems and try to prevent the spread of infectious diseases,” according to the report.

As of Saturday night, there are 763 coronavirus cases in Florida.
