Graham Leung again does Fiji proud
October 7, 2009
Prominent Fiji lawyer and international democracy advocate Graham Leung has been included in the final line up of Speakers for the Rule of Law Symposium in Madrid, Spain.
Three eminent defenders of the Rule of Law , Judge Baltazar Garzon, Lord Bingham of Cornhill and Fiji?s very own Graham Leung are the designated principal speakers for the International Bar Association (IBA) symposium taking place on the 9th Oct, in Madrid, Spain.
This event will bring to conclusion the IBA?s six day 2009 Annual Conference where a gathering of more than 4,800 delegate lawyers is expected.
Francis Neate , Chair of the IBA Rule of Law Action Group and organiser of the symposium said ? I am delighted that Judge Garzon, Lord Bingham and Graham Leung will address lawyers from across the globe on the importance of promoting the administration of justice under the Rule of Law worldwide. Their collective expertise and experience will undoubtedly benefit the IBA conference. The general principles of the Rule of Law form one of the essential pillars of a civilised society. They both liberate and protect its citizens.
The increasing erosion around the world of the Rule of Law is disheartening , but the IBA is encouraged by the fortitude and commitment of Judge Garzon, Lord Bingham and Graham Leung and others to speak out on the importance of strengthening the Rule of Law globally.
