Fastcase Adds Legal Technology Expert Damien Riehl as Managing Director; Will Lead Legal Research Strategy

Legal publishing company Fastcase announced today that Damien Riehl joined the team on July 8 as Managing Director of the Fastcase Legal Research Platform. He will be responsible for executing on the company’s strategic vision for strengthening its Bad Law Bot citator and integrating legal analytics powered by Docket Alarm.

Before joining Fastcase, Riehl helped lead development of legal-workflow management efforts for Thomson Reuters. He has experience driving software and content design, data structure, and user experience. He is also a named inventor on a patent application relating to legal workflow. Before joining Thomson Reuters, he litigated complex matters with Robins Kaplan LLP (formerly Robins, Miller, & Ciresi L.L.P.), clerked for state and federal judges, and taught copyright and trademark law at William Mitchell College of Law.

He most recently served as vice president at Stroz Friedberg, an Aon company, where he led investigations ranging from digital forensics to cybersecurity incidents. In that role, Riehl crafted artificial-intelligence solutions, including NLP and data-analytics, providing insights in e-discovery, big-data engagements, and world-scale investigations.
