The Young Law Library at the University of Arkansas School of Law is hiring for the newly created position of Faculty Services and Outreach Librarian. The Faculty Services and Outreach Librarian will be responsible for regular outreach to faculty to stay in touch with their current research needs, provide awareness of library services, gather faculty input on collection development, and assist them with legal research both personally and through training and supporting student research assistants. This position will assist faculty with article submission to scholarly repositories and other databases to enhance citation visibility as well as provide faculty with any needed course-related assistance. The incumbent will provide regular reference desk duty and will provide outreach to all library constituencies through social media.
Required
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school conferred by the start of employment
M.L.I.S. or an equivalent graduate degree from an ALA-accredited library program conferred by the start of employment
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of legal resources and research methodologies in both print and electronic formats
Demonstrated knowledge of professional librarianship concepts and practices and a commitment to staying abreast of new developments within the field
Demonstrated ability to meet University of Arkansas requirements for promotion and tenure
Demonstrated strong service orientation
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as appropriate
Preferred
Experience coordinating and managing faculty reference and research requests
Teaching experience
Experience working with scholarly repositories
Demonstrated familiarity with copyright law and copyright clearance procedures
