Our Finance Team

Our multi-disciplinary banking and finance team works with organisations across the sector. These include, but are not limited to, the major Australian banks, foreign banks, credit unions, mutual banks and regional banks. We advise on regulatory issues, financing products, commercial lending and capital raising. In addition, our solutions cover operational issues such as conduct risk mitigation, outsourcing, employment, tax, managing disputes and also credit and investment funds.

The practice group is led by Ben Cockerill as Practice Group Head along with Partner, Gemey Visscher. The team you will be supporting consists of one Partner, one Special Counsel, one Senior Associate, two Lawyers and a Paralegal.

Your role

A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Executive Assistant to join our Finance team in Perth, working full time to provide invaluable coordination and high level support services to the Partner and fee earners within this varied and busy team.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

Drafting correspondence, document preparation (including the use of precedents) and amendments

Liaising with clients as directed by fee earners

Arranging meetings with various internal and external stakeholders

Diary management and organisation of fee earners

Answering calls and monitoring emails

High volume file management including opening and closing files, electronic and physical filing and scanning

Assisting in maintaining client databases

Maintaining Transaction Bible library

Monthly billing and reporting in accordance with specific client requirements

Reconciliation of corporate AMEX expenses

General administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, searches, formatting etc

Other ad hoc duties as required

What you need

To be successful in this role, strong organisational skills are essential as well as a high level of initiative, energy and enthusiasm and the ability to follow through. Ideally, you will also have experience working in a fast paced, ever changing environment. In addition to this, you will possess the following attributes:

Self-motivated and an ability to work autonomously with minimal direction

Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities

A strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with team members, clients (both internal and external) and industry experts

Advanced Microsoft application knowledge

A solid understanding of billing and financial systems and other software applications

Exceptional organisational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritise and delegate

A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

A proactive approach and demonstrated initiative

Flexibility to adapt to different tasks
