Overview
RegScan part of Enhesa Group is growing our team and is looking to add a high-energy individual who will support our regulatory research and content team. This position is based in the US and will have responsibility for Environmental, Health, & Safety Regulatory and Support Services for United States Laws and Regulations. The candidate must be able to work as part of a dynamic team and provide the following: understanding of the legislative process in the United States; research and monitoring of EHS and EHS-adjacent legal issues, laws, and regulations; legal interpretation and analysis of State and Federal laws and regulations in the form of EHS regulatory research; and development of original EHS content.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety or Environmental Health related fields.
- 2+ years of experience in an EHS related field.
- Working knowledge of US Environmental, Health, & Safety Laws and their application.
- Experience working remotely (Preferred).
- US citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Research, Analysis, and Content Development:
- Understand the US legal system and processes, including the hierarchy of laws and official government publications
- Screen EHS and EHS-adjacent legislative, regulatory, and other legal developments; analyze issues and identify key relevant information; and research, report, and update legal content
- Draft and edit content enhancements to help customers understand the context, application, and development of the EHS and EHS-adjacent laws and regulations
- Monitor Proposed and Final Rules of official publications and secondary sources within defined subject areas and stay abreast of emerging regulatory landscape
- Develop Summaries and Business Impact Analysis of regulatory developments
- Identify Legal Requirements and develop Audit Protocols based on the EHS regulation/law
- Review content rendered as print or electronic products for completeness and accuracy
- Demonstrate competence in online research tools
Editorial Responsibilities:
- Meet editorial publishing schedules and quality standards
- Adhere to company’s editorial style and formatting guides
- Follow company’s internal processes for content management (Jira) and authoring (Phoenix)
- Verify own work and that of other staff as required for accuracy and completeness, and ensure that the information is properly presented and organized
- Maintain and develop legal knowledge and skills training as required to complete work and stay current on legal trends and developments related to the position
Individual and Leadership Development:
- Participate in required technical and soft skills training
- Attend and participate in meetings as requested/required
- Develop knowledge of RegScan publications and products, and those of our competitors
- Prioritize own work and meet stringent deadlines
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of each team member and how each role affects production
- Demonstrate competence on company-specific systems necessary to perform job functions
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Specialization in Health and Safety and/or Environmental Law with knowledge of issues in relevant regulatory topics in United States
- Highly organized
- Exceptional editorial judgment and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and communicate complex regulatory issues clearly and succinctly
- Ability to learn and become proficient in editorial production processes and other internal systems
- Able to use electronic resources and tools to effectively perform the job
- Familiarity with excel and word processing (Office 365) and web-based applications (Jira, Confluence, Zoom)
- Ability to prioritize tasks and projects and to move smoothly and efficiently from one activity to another
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively
- Able to work successfully in a collaborative or team environment
- Motivated, self-starter with the discipline to work independently on assignments
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment, including virtual collaboration
- Ability to communicate and effectively interact with Team Manager in virtual environment: To complete all necessary training; To successfully perform assigned tasks; To review work and receive feedback.
