EHS Legal Researcher RegScan, Inc. Remote $40,000 – $50,000 a year

Full job description

RegScan part of Enhesa Group is growing our international research and content team and is looking to add a high-energy individual who will support our regulatory research and services team. This position is based in the US but will have responsibility for EHS Regulatory and Support Services for various jurisdictions globally. The candidate must be able to work as part of a dynamic team and provide the following: understanding of legislative process in an assigned jurisdiction; research and monitoring of in-country legal issues, laws, and regulations; and management and support of original EHS compliance content.

Requirements:

  • B.S., International equivalent.
  • Paralegal Certification and 3+ years relevant research experience (or 5+ years relevant research experience without certification).
  • Fluent in English and Spanish is required. Portuguese is preferred. See more regarding language requirements below.
  • Working knowledge of EHS topics.
  • Experience with international legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

International Legal Research, Analysis, and Content Development:

  • Understand the legal system and processes in assigned jurisdictions, including the hierarchy of laws and official government publications.
  • Research legislative, regulatory, and other legal developments.
  • Report, update, and maintain legal content.
  • Draft and edit regulatory content based on EHS laws and regulations for assigned jurisdictions.
  • Monitor official publications of proposed and final legislation within defined EHS topic areas for assigned countries and stay abreast of emerging regulatory landscape.
  • Provide research on regulatory trends across the globe for presentations.
  • Develop Summaries and Business Impact Analysis of EHS laws and regulations.
  • Review and revise content rendered as print or electronic products for completeness and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate competence in online research tools.

Editorial Responsibility:

  • Meet editorial publishing schedules and quality standards.
  • Adhere to RegScan’s editorial style and formatting guides.
  • Follow RegScan’s internal processes for authoring and content management.
  • Verify own work and that of other staff as required for accuracy and completeness and ensure that the information is properly presented and organized.
  • Maintain and develop legal knowledge and skills training as required to complete work and stay current on legal trends and developments related to the position.

Individual and Leadership Development:

  • Attend and participate in meetings as requested/required.
  • Develop knowledge of RegScan publications and products, and those of our competitors
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of each team member. as well as members of other teams within RegScan to recognize how each role affects production.
  • Demonstrate competence on company-specific systems necessary to perform job functions.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • International Experience
  • Specialization in EHS Law with knowledge of issues in relevant regulatory topics internationally
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and communicate complex regulatory issues clearly and succinctly.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in editorial production processes and other internal systems.
