A drunken lawyer who was filmed being dragged out of a California restaurant by police officers after abusing staff is a TV star and bedding influencer who claims to promote ‘non-toxic living’.
Shyla Smith was arrested by officers with Visalia Police Department after causing havoc inside the Bravo Farms restaurant in the California city.
The incident was caught on camera and shared to social media by fellow restaurant patron Kay Breann where Smith has gone viral for her antics.
Visalia Police have since confirmed to DailyMail.com that she was booked for trespassing and resisting arrest following the incident on Monday. Further details on her arrest have not been made public as of yet.
Smith, 44, is the owner of blanket company Muslin Comfort and prides herself on her Instagram as being a proponent of ‘non-toxic living’.
But there was little evidence of that philosophy during her toe-curling behavior at a California eatery.
In the video, which was first shared to TikTok, Smith can be heard telling fellow restaurant patron Kay Breann that she was a lawyer.
According to her LinkedIn page, she attended Ventura College of Law before going on to work for Farmers Insurance as a trial attorney.
In 2018 she went on to found her own company specializing in an all-natural breathable bed comforter, calling it Muslin Comfort.
She frequently appears on TV shows to promote her business and according to public records has head seven other run ins with the law, some of which involve traffic incidents.
During the confrontation on Monday, Smith can be heard repeatedly saying that she is a lawyer to Breann, who stands defiantly in her face.
Breann tells her: ‘You will not intimidate anyone on my dime. You will not. You better act right.’
An unknown man recording the video can be heard adding: ‘How embarrassing for your firm, if you are a lawyer.’
Smith replies: ‘How embarrassing for your everything’, causing the man to pan up and down her outfit and hilariously say: ‘We’ve got this, with those shoes’.
Two police officers can then be seen arriving on the scene, who immediately approach Smith.
Breann tells her ‘you gotta go’, before leaving. Smith then continues her tirade telling the officers: ‘This is inappropriate, this customer service is inappropriate’.
The man continues recording and offering commentary, saying: ‘You’re a** is going to jail you psycho b*****. How embarrassing. Trash, trash, trash.’
In a follow up video, Breann adds that the woman was indeed arrested by officers inside the restaurant to the delight of fellow patrons.
In her video she offered some back story, claiming the woman had been drinking at the bar of the restaurant and had been asked to leave after staff cut her off.
Breann added: ‘She started taking it out on the staff and on the customers. Shoulder checking people, filing herself, claiming that [the restaurant] was dirty.
‘[Claiming] she’s an attorney, she’s gonna shut the place down, just being a nuisance and being a pain.
