Dream Job !!! Legal Information Officer in the Cayman Islands

Applications are invited by the Cayman Islands office of Maples and Calder for the position of Information Officer.

 

Maples and Calder is a leading international law firm advising financial, institutional, business and private clients around the world on the laws of the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands and Ireland.

We are looking to recruit a permanent Information Officer in our Cayman Islands office. This position is a global role and the Information Officer will be expected to provide research and information services to all the offices of both Maples and Calder and MaplesFS.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake legal, business and compliance related research and assist in the maintenance of the firm’s Intranet and Knowledge Management system. To provide current awareness services and ensure that lawyers are kept up-to-date with all pertinent legal and commercial information.

Requirements

A degree or post graduate diploma in Information Management is essential as is at least four years experience in a major law firm.

In depth knowledge of the workings of a legal library is essential as is knowledge of applicable core legal texts for all relevant legal practice areas.

Knowledge of corporate research resources such as SEC Edgar, Companies House, Zawya and Avention and an ability to research corporate structures and a company’s regulatory status would be advantageous.

Expertise in the use of research resources such as Lexis, Westlaw and Justis is needed as well as the ability to train new lawyers in the use of these resources.

An ability and enthusiasm for keeping up to date with local and worldwide markets and developments, identifying those areas which may impact Cayman, BVI and Ireland and the business of Maples Global.
