Drama At Lexis Nexis Canada

Again…. life at LN? Canada appears to be in a permanent state of flux..

Our Canada spy tells us; and HOB quotes…

Lexis Nexis Canada has taken corporate reorganization to a new depths. Having recently announced the departure of the VP for Business Development, Pat Collins, the CEO, and Judy Vezmar, the CEO of Lexis Nexis International, are now creating three VP level positions to take his place – a VP for Corporate & Public Markets Business, a VP Legal Business, and a VP Product Management. A search is underway to fill the positions. Both internal and external applicants are welcome.

What is truly astonishing is that the proposed changes come from a consulting firm with little or no knowledge of the industry, under the direction of CEOs with little or no knowledge of the industry. What is even more astonishing is that they would announce changes without an implementation plan that would provide employees and customers with an an assurance of either continuity or competence. One can only hope that the ship remains afloat as Lexis tries to get its house in order.

It is worth noting that Lexis Nexis Canada has been a rudderless ship since the departure three years ago of former CEO Mike Pilmer, whose only offence was to tell Judy Vezmar and Andy Prozes that their growth expectations were completely unrealistic. Perhaps the time has come for Lexis Nexis senior executives to admit their mistake and bring Mike back.

What fun to be working there.
