Dr. Anthony “Tony” Bartl – “Constitutionalism and Liberty: Essays in Honor of David K. Nichols”.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Dr. Anthony “Tony” Bartl, Angelo State University political science professor, has co-edited a new book, “Constitutionalism and Liberty: Essays in Honor of David K. Nichols”.

The book, published by Lexington Books, a division of Rowman & Littlefield, pays tribute to Dr. David K. Nichols, a retired Baylor University associate professor whose career in higher education spanned more than 40 years. It features 18 essays from former students and colleagues examining the relationship between liberty and constitutionalism in American politics and political theory. Bartl also contributed an essay to the collection.

The essays explore how human liberty can be protected while ensuring the government has the authority to govern effectively. Topics include the separation of powers, checks and balances, American legal practices, civil and parental rights and the role of the judiciary. The book also discusses political philosophy, literature and art in relation to political theory.

The book is available for purchase through Rowman & Littlefield, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other online booksellers. You can also purchase here.
