Role Purpose:

To provide efficient and responsive editorial assistance for Practical Law Global. A key aspect of this role is to write clear and concise summaries of Hong Kong and other global corporate finance transactions for publication on Practical Law’s What’s Market product and assist with the production of other relevant content.

Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision where required writing, proofing, publishing and updating summaries of Hong Kong and other global corporate finance transactions for What’s Market.
  • Preparing analysis, proofing, writing and assisting with the publication of What’s Market trends reports and other content for PL China and PL Global.
  • Reviewing and proofing other materials for What’s Market.
  • Carrying out daily trawls of relevant websites and other sources and identifying relevant deal announcements, prospectuses and developments of interest to What’s Market customers.
  • Compiling and distributing the daily What’s Market alert and fortnightly What’s Market legal update.
  • Carrying out research.
  • Updating Hong Kong Corporate maintained content to reflect What’s Market data and trends.
  • Supporting the international editorial team in in using and developing relevant editorial tools and systems.

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Native-level writing and communication skills in the English language.
  • Excellent knowledge of legal research databases
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in writing practical legal content for publication.
  • Experience in using technology to create and disseminate online content.
  • Experience in assimilating and applying new complex information.

Education/ Certifications Required:

  • Law Degree 2:1 or above or Other Degree 2:1 or above and General Diploma in Law.
