Donor gives $10,000 to each IU law school graduate

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — An anonymous donor has gifted 154 students in the Indiana University Maurer School of Law Class of 2026 with $10,000 each.

The gift totals $1.54 million and is for the emerging legal professionals who graduate in May.

“This gift was made possible by donors deeply committed to our students’ success and to advancing the mission of IU Maurer School of Law,” said Dean Christiana Ochoa.

“Their support is intended to give our 2026 graduates an early advantage by helping reduce the burden of educational debt.”

The anonymous donor said just this in a statement: “We hope this gift inspires recipients to pay it forward,” they said. “We consider it a great privilege to give and to support others.”

The law scholars are set to graduate on May 9
