Donald Trump has hired celebrity attorney Drew Findling to defend him in his upcoming case. Findling has represented several famous hip-hop artists.
The former US president has a new lawyer in his legal team and the high-profile Atlanta criminal defense attorney has represented rappers Gucci Mane and Cardi B among other celebs.
Here’s everything we know about Drew Findling.
Drew Findling is a criminal attorney and founding partner at The Findling Law Firm, which focuses on “federal and state criminal defense.” The firm tries cases ranging from “matters involving complex white-collar crimes to serious violent felonies,” according to a bio on the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ website.
Findling started his career as a public defender at Fulton County and has represented clients in cases in state and federal courts across the county. Clients include hip-hop artists Gucci Mane, Cardi B and Lil Baby, comedians Katt Williams and Mike Epps, and Offset, Quavo and Takeoff from the group Migos.
Findling’s Twitter bio includes the hashtag #BillionDollarLawyer, while his personal Instagram profile features pictures of him with famous clients.
The high-profile cases he’s worked on helped him earn several recognitions, including being named ‘Power Lawyer’ by Billboard Magazine and making The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Top 20 Troubleshooters’ list.
FINDLING ADDRESSES TRUMP CASE
Findling has been hired to represent Trump in Fulton County alongside two other attorneys, Jennifer Little and Dwight Thomas.
In an emailed statement to AP News, the Atlanta lawyer said he was a “passionate advocate against injustice” and would “strongly defend” the former US president.
Findling explained: “I may differ politically from many of my clients but that doesn’t change my commitment to defend against wrongful investigations.
“In this case, the focus on President Trump in Fulton County, Georgia, is clearly an erroneous and politically driven persecution and, along with my office and co-counsel, I am fully committed to defend against this injustice.”
