Standing Order on Use of AI by Magistrate Judge David Horan out of N.D. Texas. Every paragraph incorporating a quote from either an existing rule regulating attorneys or case involving the improper use of AI in litigation, all neatly woven together to arrive at the conclusion:
“In sum, ‘the use of artificial intelligence must be accompanied by the application of actual intelligence in its execution.’ And, so, attorneys and self-represented litigants should consult this Standing Order when considering the use of AI in court filings and, for any brief prepared using generative artificial intelligence, must comply with Northern District of Texas Local Civil Rule 7.2(f).”
Willis v. U.S. Bank N.A., No. 3:25-cv-516-BN, 2025 BL 166761 (N.D. Tex. May 15, 2025).
“In sum, ‘the use of artificial intelligence must be accompanied by the application of actual intelligence in its execution.’
