Dior Files $2 Million Trademark Suit Against Massachusetts Cafe

Christian Dior Couture says a Massachusetts cafe should pay $2 million in damages for willfully infringing upon its trademark by operating under a similar name and ignoring multiple cease and desist requests, according to a new lawsuit.

The French high-fashion brand alleges that Cafe Dior, based in Springfield, Massachusetts, has profited off of its “fame and goodwill” in its efforts to advertise itself as luxurious, according the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Gissel Santiago, the cafe’s owner, was also named as a defendant in the suit.
