Crocs Brings Trademark Suit Against Alleged Japan-based Copycat

Crocs Inc. filed a trademark infringement lawsuit Wednesday against a Japan-based dollar store in Los Angeles federal court, following a slate of similar suits against companies making copycats of the popular rubber clog.

The complaint said Daiso, which owns more than 5,000 retail stores around the world, sold counterfeit Crocs clogs with generic names like “Causal Sandals for Men” and “Lined Casual Clog” for $3 to $3.50 a pair. The company also operates an eCommerce business through its website that target US customers, the complaint said.
