In this newly created role the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing and providing oversite for the Company’s IP&C compliance efforts and library function related to electronic publications.  The role provides expertise, administration and support on all copyright-related matters including overseeing publication and database subscriptions and licenses, best practices, copyright education, obtaining and tracking copyright permissions, and copyright policy development.

 Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement IP&C policies and procedures
  • Provide daily guidance on employees’ IP&C issues
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the purchase of article reprints, copyright permissions and e-prints
  • Coordinate with Copyright Clearance Center
  • Develop and maintain database of existing licenses and subscriptions
  • Recommend and implement new technologies and/or vendors that will improve library and IP&C services
  • Design and deliver IP&C instruction/training sessions as need
  • Keep up-to-date on copyright law, licenses and advise on copyright issues and direction
  • Perform other librarian duties as needed including reference and collection management

Requirements

The following are the minimum requirements for the position:

  • Master’s degree in Library/Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program or equivalent IP&C experience
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in a financial services, legal or other corporate setting
  • Strong knowledge of the licensing of and accessing of copyrighted materials
  • Proficiency with relevant technology applications, library systems, and software
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the Company
  • A team player with a desire to learn and take on increasingly new and challenging tasks
