CLIMATE MIGRATION IN LAW AND POLICY

Thursday 8th June 2023 | 12:30 – 13:30 BST, Online via Zoom

The Climate and Environmental Justice (DSI) and Immigration Teams at Doughty Street Chambers are delighted to invite you to their seminar on Climate Migration in Law and Policy.

The seminar will focus on the legal issues relating to climate migration. Climate-induced displacement and migration are rising. However, no legal framework currently exists to protect the rights of climate migrants. Our speakers will focus on current legal and/or policy work focusing on the rights of climate migrants, their experience of climate-related issues in existing litigation and the ways in which existing laws (for example, human rights law) may be used to introduce to protect the rights of climate migrants today.

Hosted by our Harj Narulla, speakers will include our Krishnendu Mukherjee with Yumna Kamel (Earth Refuge) and Nina Kamp (Duncan Lewis Solicitors).

We hope you can join us.
