Noslegal – A non-profit, collaborative taxonomy for legal work

Lunchtime webinar – 1pm –  Wednesday July 13th (Free to members)

CLIG warmly invites you to a webinar with Graeme Johnston on behalf of the Noslegal open source, not-for-profit taxonomy group. The objective is to  create a deliberately simple ‘language’ for describing legal work, from a practical perspective. Use cases include KM, reporting to clients, legal project management and much more. It has earned support and collaboration from the likes of Herbert Smith Freehills, Freshfields, Linklaters, Osborne Clarke and Slaughter & May, among other firms. The first version was released in March of this year and intends to provide a “high level framework” that can be extended and used inter-organisationally and across different legal systems. Some elements are quite mature, but the second half of 2022 will be a crucial development period for the project.

Graeme will cover:

  • Origins, objectives and use cases
  • The community who’ve done the work over the last 18 months
  • The March 2022 release – legal places, work, subjects and perspectives
  • The licensing model – open source, free-to-use, not for profit
  • Next steps for July – December 2022
  • How to use it or become more actively involved
  • Q&A

Graeme is a former dispute resolution partner at Herbert Smith Freehills who now leads Juralio, a work collaboration software company.
