Clifford Chance and AZB & Partners, an Indian law firm, have entered into an informal agreement.
…… which will involve client referral arrangements, joint training, consultation and marketing.

ET first broke the news on December 22 that AZB was talking to Clifford Chance to establish an informal tie-up. The arrangement will set a new benchmark for both the law firms in terms of delivery of legal services on transactions involving international businesses investing in India or Indian businesses investing or raising capital or finance
internationally.
Clifford Chance global managing partner, David Childs said, It is a big enhancement in our relationship with AZB and our new working relationship will enable us to provide our clients with the service they need."
AZB senior partner Zia Mody said: As the speed of India s integration into the global economy quickens, our law firms have to keep in step. Our lawyers are second to none and once linked into international best practices and training, they will be an even stronger force both for the firm and our clients.
Some of the other global biggies which have already built a presence in India through informal tie-ups are Allen & Ovary and Linklaters. They have non-financial relationships arrangements with Trilegal and Talwar Thakore & Associates, respectively.
