Two separate posts turned up on the China Law Discussion list yesterday suggesting a new crackdown on lawyers in China.
The first post reveals..
Yesterday a number of lawyers (actually, some of them ex-lawyers since their licenses have been revoked) were detained or disappeared yesterday. Among those are (according to a tweet by activist Wan Yanhai) the following: ?(Tang Jitian, Jiang Tianyong, Zhu Yufu, Liao Shuangyuan, Huang Yanming, Teng Biao, Ran Yunfei, Li Tiantian, Liu Guohui, Ding Mao, Lu Yongxiang, Xiao Yong, Zhang Jianping, Shi Yulin, She Wanbao, Li Yu, Lou Baosheng, Wei Shuishan, Zhang Shanguang, Li Xiongbing, Xu Zhiyong, Huang Yaling, Li Bo).
And then the second post on the list goes on to say
In addition, according to some twitter messages, Lawyer Liu Shihui (???) of Guangzhou – also an ex-lawyer, whose licence was taken away in connection with his criminal defence of rights defender Guo Feixiong -? was grabbed, hooded and beaten up by unidentified thugs this afternoon in Guangzhou. Reportedly, his legs were badly injured, and he is unable to walk now. A number of tweets about Liu Shihui, by activist Yang Licai and others, have been collected at the temporary boxun website
