A leading law firm requires a Knowledge Administrator to join their knowledge team based in the Channel Islands. This varied role will cover training, knowledge management and library activities and will be an ideal opportunity for someone with experience looking to develop their career in knowledge and information management. Given the multi-jurisdictional nature of the firm, the Knowledge Administrator and Knowledge team members will be expected to show flexibility to work with remote teams spread across international time-zones. You will also provide administration support to the Head of Department and cover for the absences of other team members.
Key responsibilities include:
· Co-coordinating, organizing and/or presenting training and support to fee-earners and support staff on knowledge management resources, systems and procedures
· Managing the global legal technical ‘share your knowledge’ programme, working with practice groups and business services teams to create, manage, deliver and store outputs from the annual programme for future use
· Supporting practice teams with identifying and procuring external legal training needs post qualification, and processing payments as required
· Collaborating with other training functions and third parties to support training
· Managing collaboration tools to support virtual legal training and knowledge sharing
· Supporting the adoption of the Firm Style, formatting and proof checking the consistency of documents and supporting PSLs with formatting queries
· Actively assisting in the process of encouraging the sharing of knowledge and the change in culture to enable the capture of tacit knowledge in the Firm
· Producing reports on knowledge activities and return on investment
· Ensuring accurate and timely saving of all knowledge assets in relevant databases
· Managing library collections locally and providing general library house-keeping
· Assisting with KM Helpdesk to support KM requests
To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:
Educated to A level or above
Experience of working in a professional services firm, ideally law
Previous knowledge and information management experience
A genuine interest in knowledge and information management and the legal sector
Strong administration and database skills
Good team player
Can do attitude
Exceptional communication skills
Attention to detail
