This season, we’re grateful for cozy homes, time spent outside, and gathering with our loved ones. But for billions of farmed animals, these simple comforts are out of reach. At the Center for Animal Law Studies (CALS), advocating for farmed animals is at the heart of our work, and we’re determined to shape a future in which they can live the lives they deserve. Thanks to supporters like you, we’re giving farmed animals the chance for a better life.
Carlotta, a rescue chicken adopted by our very own Professor Joyce Tischler, affectionately known as the Mother of Animal Law, serves as a reminder of the individual lives we’re working to protect. Joyce shares, “Chickens are wonderful companions, incredibly sweet and adorable; more intelligent than they are given credit for. Living with chickens is opening my eyes to who they are as individuals [and] their unending curiosity about the world around them.”
Compassion for all living beings drives everything we do at CALS. By empowering the next generation of lawyers, advocates, and educators to advance legal protections for farmed animals, we can raise awareness and foster a kinder world. Your support allows our students to continue this crucial work, ensuring that farmed animals receive the consideration and care they deserve.
As the year draws to a close, we hope you’ll join us by donating to support our mission. Thank you for being part of this essential work.
