CCH (Australia) To Publish New White Paper On EDM

CCH (Australia) have just let us know that they are about to publish a new white paper which surveyed over 100 legal and accounting professionals around the Asia Pacific region

who provided CCH (Aus) with information on their current use of and future plans for Electronic Document Management (EDM).?

Linda Moore of CCH (Aus) writes:

There were some very interesting results, including:

  • 72.8% of respondents who have implemented an EDM system agreed ? it has increased their efficiency and productivity. ?
  • The key barrier to implementing an EDM solution is perception. ?Many respondents with an EDM solution report significantly fewer concerns than those considering a solution.
  • 63% of respondents say that the ?paperless ideal? would mean that 80 ? 100% of all documents and reference materials are managed ?electronically?. ?However only 29% of respondents report having achieved this ?ideal? state.
  • Almost two thirds of respondents expect to be using an EDM solution to manage documents and reference materials within the next 3 ? 5 years.

She adds

One of the great things about our findings are that they really quantify the ROI of EDM by contrasting the expectations of those without it with the experiences of those who have implemented (and there?s a big difference)

We will be publishing the full white paper in the next edition of Law Librarians News – due next Friday.
