An international law firm requires a Research Analyst to Support the operational delivery of front line legal and business research, and knowledge management support to the firm via the Research & Knowledge Services helpdesk, the production of current awareness and the management of divisional legal information resources. This is a full-time permanent position.
Key responsibilities include:
· Developing and maintaining an understanding of the firm’s divisions / practice areas and market sectors in terms of their likely research needs and as sources of internal know-how
· Providing in-depth reactive and proactive research and analysis
· Applying knowledge of the firm’s business to highlight potential market opportunities
· Producing tailored current awareness to the firm and its clients using appropriate sources and technology
· Managing information resources and knowledge in support of divisional / practice area teams
· Providing training and advice regarding research skills to new joiners and trainee solicitors
· Building effective relationships at all levels across the firm
To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:
· Good current knowledge of online information databases
· Strong communication and influencing skills
· Proven research and analysis experience
· Excellent academic achievement
· Commercially minded with strong customer service skills
· Confidence to delegate and negotiate work deadlines
· Able to work on own initiative to tight deadlines and co-ordinate competing activities whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner
· IT literate with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook; experience of knowledge management tools such as SharePoint or HighQ preferred
