BUIES CREEK — Campbell Law School Dean J. Rich Leonard is set to speak from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, about his newest book, “From Welcome to Windhoek: A Judge’s Journey” in the Wiggins Memorial Library, 113 Main St.
In the book, Leonard traces his adventures from a childhood in the Davie County farm community of Welcome, North Carolina, to his global reach sharing his judicial skills and expertise with developing judiciaries in developing countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
Leonard will sign copies of his book, available at the event, in the library’s Periodical Reading Room. No RSVP is needed.
Dean of the Law School since 2013 and the longest sitting law school dean in North Carolina, Leonard is a former U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of North Carolina. In 2021 he was named Bankruptcy Law Lawyer of the Year by Global 100 Magazine and recognized among the top CEOs of 2021 by Triangle Business Journal. He also was named “Lawyer of the Year” by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly in 2014.
