Cambodian Ministry of Justice Signs an MoU with the US Law Office to promote legal knowledge

The Ministry of Justice signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Building Bridge USA (BBUSA), a US law office, with the aim of promoting legal knowledge and the use of an electronic law library.

Chin Malin, secretary of State of the Ministry of Justice was present at the ceremony with former United States Judge, John C. Coughenour and a former president of the Bar Association, Bill Pickett at the Ministry’s office on Friday.

According to Ministry of Justice, the MoU aims to promote legal knowledge and the use of an electronic law library in Cambodia.

They said that through this collaboration, it will provide more legal knowledge and skills to Cambodian students, scholars and law enforcement officers, which will be further enhanced through the free use of the US electronic law library, meetings, seminars, study tours and the exchange will share legal knowledge and experience to judges, prosecutors, lawyers, legal experts, scholars and students of both countries as well.

After the signing of the MoU, Malin also gave a lecture on “Trust Relationship & Service in the digital age” with John C. Coughenour and Bill Pickett in attendance along with 130 students, judges, prosecutors, notaries and bailiffs.
