The newest Netflix true crime docuseries, Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal, follows the events that led up to the murders of a mother and son from an elite, wealthy family in South Carolina, the Murdaughs.

Margaret “Maggie” Murdaugh and her 22-year-old son Paul were both killed in June 2021. Alex Murdaugh, the victims‘ husband and father, is currently on trial for their deaths. He has been charged with their murders, but has maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty to the crimes.
