The Downing Street staff fined for breaches of lockdown laws will not have to report it to their superiors and will never be publicly named
Boris Johnson has refused to admit that Covid laws were broken inside 10 Downing Street as the police announced up to 20 members of staff were being fined over lockdown parties.
The employees who are fined at least £100 each for attending illegal gatherings will not be disciplined over their law breach and will not be required to inform their bosses about the penalty.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Tuesday that 20 fines would be issued for breaches of Covid-19 regulations in Downing Street and Whitehall. More fixed-penalty notices may be announced in the coming weeks as officers continue to process evidence.
