Bookings are open for the BIALL  2020 conference at the Harrogate Convention Centrefrom Thursday 11th and Saturday 13th June 2020.

The BIALL Conference Committee have put together a packed programme in line with this year’s theme, Bodies in the library: sleuthing, plotting and making the case.  We’ve plenary sessions with cross-sector appeal with topics such as the future of the legal profession, mental health and wellbeing, and the information professional’s place in a changing world. There is a great range of parallel sessions too where you can hear case studies on launching new services, empowering users and finding new ways to teach and engage users to name but a few.  One of our highlights has to be the keynote address from Joshua Rozenberg QC (hon) who will be taking us to Destinations unknown – join us to find out more!

The programme also includes meetings of the Academic, Irish and Knowledge Management Special Interest Groups as well as the New Professionals Forum.

Click here to view the provisional programme and keep an eye on the BIALL Conference 2020 page on our website for more information about the speakers and sessions over the coming weeks.

Why not start your conference experience early and attend the Pre-conference Workshop on Wednesday 10th June? This year we are learning how to have ‘Courageous Conversations’ with Diana Edmonds who will be delivering a session full of tips and techniques with plenty of opportunity for practice.

On Thursday 11th June 2020 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate – Majestic Hotel we have the President’s Reception which will incorporate the BIALL annual awards and the Lexis Library Awards.  This is followed by ‘Endless Night’ an evening event sponsored by Platinum Sponsor LexisNexis.  ‘The Mystery of the Blue (BIALL) Train’ evening event sponsored by Platinum Sponsor vLex Justis, will be held at National Railway Museum, York on Friday 12th June 2020.

We are pleased that once again we have an extensive exhibition and encourage you all to spend time and network with our suppliers. In addition we encourage you to visit the Product showcases during the lunch periods to find out more about the services and products they have on offer.
