BREAKING: Carman Hall and Lerner Hall are being evacuated due to a bomb threat, Columbia announced. The University advises that people stay away from those buildings until further notice.

Update (7:30 p.m.): Cornell University has now announced that the law enforcement investigation into the bomb threats that were called into the school on Sunday has concluded. The school said police did not find any “credible threats.” Normal activities are now able to resume.
The school also released far more details about the actual threat. In a letter to the community, Joel Malina, the VP of University Relations, stated that Tompkins County Dispatch had received “an anonymous call from an individual claiming to be in one of our academic buildings with automatic weapons and that explosives had been placed in several other academic buildings.”
“We are relieved to report that this threat appears to have been a hoax,” Malina said. “A cruel hoax, but, thankfully, just a hoax. The university has now resumed its normal operations.”
The threats are nearly identical to the ones that were made via Twitter to Columbia University. That Twitter account has been suspended.
Update (5:00 p.m.): The school further confirms that police are on scene and investigating, and have set up a perimeter. They are currently conducting building sweeps.
Central campus seems like the focus of the investigation currently—though the law school and Upson Hall were mentioned by the school, there were not many police stationed outside either of those locations as of 4:30 p.m.
Brown University also announced its own bomb situation, announcing the investigation of a suspicious package, joining Columbia University and Cornell, which both reported bomb threats. Yale University had another bomb threat scare over the weekend.
Update (3:40p.m.): Cornell University has confirmed that they have received a bomb threat.
Update (3:06 p.m): Cornell has now expanded the “avoid” order to include all of central campus.
A source tells the Ithaca Voice that the school has received a bomb threat, which is the reason for the evacuations. That would fall in line with the bomb threats at other Ivy League schools recently, detailed below.

ITHACA, N.Y.—Four buildings at Cornell University have been evacuated for unknown reasons Sunday afternoon.
The school announced an order to evacuate and avoid Goldwin Smith Hall, Upson Hall, Kennedy Hall and the Cornell Law School. The buildings are all in different parts of the school’s campus.
Cornell spokesperson Abby Butler said the school does not have any more information to share currently. A supervisor with Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response said they have no information other than what was put out by the school.
Certain buildings on Yale University’s campus were evacuated on Friday after a bomb threat, and Columbia University’s student newspaper is reporting evacuations there now due to a bomb threat. The Ithaca Voice has not received direct confirmation that there has been a bomb threat at Cornell.
