Biz Markie’s Widow Sues Manager Over Trademark, Royalties

The widow of rapper Biz Markie, Tara Hall, is suing the artist’s former manager and associated entertainment company for alleged trademark infringement and right to publicity violations in Washington, D.C., federal court.

Hall said that Jennifer Izumi was given limited powers to operate Biz Markie’s finances in 2018 but abused their agreement by taking over Biz Markie Inc., selling unauthorized merchandise, and obtaining music royalties.
