Maurice Blackburn has struck a deal with unionised staff, ending a year-long pay dispute that peaked last month when lawyers were shut out of their offices by the Labor-aligned firm over a ban on billings.
Staff earning under $100,000 will receive a 12.5 per cent pay rise over three years, including 5.5 per cent this year. Others will receive 11 per cent.
The pay deal is an increase of less than 1 per cent on Maurice Blackburn’s last offer, but the firm bowed to other union demands including provision for paid reproductive leave, which had been a sticking point in negotiations.
