This is an interesting development – althoug we’re not sure many 50 yr olds would like to be considered “Seniors” !
The Australian newspaper reports ..
LISTED law firm Slater & Gordon has joined forces with National Seniors Australia to offer older Australians discounts on hourly rates and fixed-price fees for some services.
Slater&Gordon managing director Andrew Grech said the firm had analysed the profile of NSA’s members, including their ages, gender balance and where they lived, to ensure the firm could offer a range of services.
NSA is a not-for-profit organisation that has 295,000 members over the age of 50.
Slater&Gordon also has agreements with the Country Women’s Association, the Australian Gift and Homewares Association and various trade unions to offer special deals for their members.
Mr Grech said the discount on offer was “modest” but that the partnership was more about giving people “control” of their legal services and address an underlying concern about fees.
