Allens Expresses Regret Over Mishandling Sexual Harassment Complaints
The firm said the matter was not handled in the manner it would be now but local reports indicate the lawyer in question still works at the firm.
Australian law firm Allens said it regrets the handling of an internal sexual harassment complaint after local press reported that it had promoted a male lawyer after disciplining him for sexually harassing a female colleague.
National newspaper The Australian reported last week a male lawyer at Allens had sexually harassed a junior associate in 2015, sending her lewd and aggressive text messages demanding sex and arriving uninvited at her Brisbane apartment after midnight one night.
