Due to growth in our Information Technology team, we have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Document Specialist. The purpose of this role is to support the business by providing effective management, development and support of Precedent documents and related systems including document automation development using the firms document automation platforms.

The opportunity

Due to growth in our Information Technology team, we have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Document Specialist. The purpose of this role is to support the business by providing effective management, development and support of Precedent documents and related systems including document automation development using the firms document automation platforms.

You duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Liaising with business stakeholder to identify and understand document automation opportunities and requirements.
  • Automating document generation using document automation platform
  • Styling documents consistent with the Dentons style guide
  • Creating auto-text entries, transaction bibles, and other precedent tools
  • Maintaining the firm’s Precedent database (iManage)
  • Providing help-desk support in relation to precedents, templates and other tools
  • Occasionally providing back-up word processing services
  • Basic precedent related induction training for new employees

About you

We are looking for candidates that have a minimum of 2 years in a precedent technician and/or document coder role or experience in a similar position. Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment is preferred. The successful candidate will also possess the follow attributes:

  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills including the use of templates and styles
  • Experience in developing Word macros (VBA)
  • Experience with Document Automation systems such as Exari and Hotdocs.
  • Extensive experience using Document Management systems (iManage desirable)
  • Advanced Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
  • The willingness to learn new things.
