The University Library Directorate includes the Dixson Library, the Law Library and the University’s Archives and Heritage Centre. The University of New England Library has a long-standing reputation for a scholarly collection and professional service excellence in contributing to the learning, teaching and research directions of the University. The Library strengthens the University through leadership in research skills development and scholarly communication. Specialised services are designed to support the large population of online students, and study facilities in the libraries provide flexible learning environments for on-campus students. The Heritage Centre is a regional repository for the State Records Authority of New South Wales. About the role The Senior Information Resources Management Librarian provides leadership and expertise in acquiring and integrating information resources in all formats into the library collections, maximising productivity and ensuring compliance with University policies relating to procurement and audit processes. The services platform utilises the Ex Libris Alma unified resource management system and the Ex Libris Primo discovery service. The Senior Information Resources Management Librarian provides leadership in developing and maintaining awareness of emerging technologies, standards and technical issues relating to acquisitions, licensing, access and usage of electronic resources and recommends and implements new initiatives for managing and processing of library material. Skills & Experience We are seeking an innovative, flexible and forward- thinking individual to lead a new team and to guide and promote individual, professional and organisational developments to achieve library strategic goals. To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of consortia purchasing as well as acquisition and procurement processes for electronic and print information resources. It is essential that you have knowledge and understanding of licensing requirements, knowledge of the global publishing environment and an understanding of its impact on the Library collection strategy. Applicants must have a degree or postgraduate qualification, in library and information services/management and be eligible for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
