About 15 Queensland school students have been forced to quarantine after coming into contact with a COVID-19 case during an excursion to the Queensland University of Technology Law Library.
Parents and caregivers of the students from Murrumba State College were sent an email to alert them of the procedure to follow.
It was after Queensland Health added 19 new sites to the list on Monday of places visited by people infected with the more contagious UK strain, including three new sites in central Queensland.
In an email, principal Paul Pengelly wrote to the parents and caregivers that some risk of casual contact might exist after the students took public transport to the QUT Law Library.
“The Redcliffe train line from 7am to 8am and 2pm to 3pm has been recently identified as a COVID-19 ‘Casual Contact’,” the email said.
“Your child was on the Redcliffe Train Line as part of this excursion during the identified times and as such should follow the protocols below.”
