Australia Position: Senior Knowledge Management Lawyer

Over the last seven years our knowledge management team has focused on developing an extensive range of resources to benefit both lawyers and clients including plain language and modern precedents (including those with Hotdocs automation), clause libraries, online library resources, CPD programs and a range of website publications in our practice areas.

Your role responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and formatting legal precedents in our commercial, property and estate planning practices
  • Engaging lawyers in each practice area in precedent development and collaborating on precedent development and review
  • Management of the firm’s precedent library and document management system
  • Keeping current and informed on legal process innovation and legal practice changes
  • Coordinating and assisting with legal knowledge projects from time to time including implementing procedural changes related to industry compliance

Required attributes:

  • Experience in drafting and developing property law precedents
  • A track record in successfully identifying an organisation’s knowledge needs
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage others in process changes
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve results
  • A solid understanding of information management, information technology and organisational processes and how they can be used to capture a law firm’s knowledge capital
  • Project management skills with the ability to successfully manage concurrent precedent and knowledge management projects
  • Strong technology skills including MS Office products and document management systems
  • Knowledge of emerging and legal technologies

Desirable attributes:

  • Experience as a practicing lawyer
  • Experience in developing estate planning and commercial law precedents
  • Knowledge of the latest developments with ACCC, ASIC, PPSR, Unfair Terms, consumer law and franchising.
