ABOUT THE ROLE

A fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, supportive, highly engaged and collaborative Library Team.

As part of the Information Services (Library) team within the Technology & Knowledge group, the Information Services Specialist will work with and support the Information Services Manager and Information Systems Specialist in delivering a superior library service to internal clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, manage and deliver a firm wide training program for all staff, including legal practitioners and Business Services
  • Coordinate sessions held by external trainers
  • Create, design and maintain learning and information products such as training presentations and guidance materials
  • Respond to library users’ queries about legal research, the library subscriptions and collection, and provide on-the-spot training when requested
  • Provide a high level of support to Graduates and Seasonal clerks
  • Assist with day to day library duties and ongoing projects
  • Build and participate in professional networks outside of the firm


ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor or post graduate qualification in librarianship
  • At least two years legal research experience
  • Understanding of and exposure to training and education principles
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Focus on user education and information literacy.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Empathetic, diplomatic and consultative approach.
  • A committed, responsive and proactive approach to work
  • An ability to work independently without supervision
  • An ability to demonstrate flexibility in prioritising work to meet deadlines
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative approach
  • An ability to demonstrate team participation and cooperation and build strong working relationships with colleagues
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality of information
  • An understanding of the importance of corporate presentation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact and build relationships at all levels
