As a Library Assistant, this role will allow you to be involved and take on additional responsibilities. Some of your duties will include:
- Collection Management (e.g. maintenance of the circulation system, maintenance of digital collections, preparing and delivering hard copy and online resources across the firm);
- eBook Collection Management;
- Content Management (e.g. assist with preparation of research guides, checklists and other training materials); and
- RSS Management (e.g. create and distribute Legislative and Case Alerts to Practice Groups, use and maintain RSS feeds from digital databases and the internet).
Skills & experience we’d love…
To secure this fantastic opportunity you will have prior experience as a Library Assistant and a qualification (or be working towards a qualification) in Library Information or related discipline. You will also be able to demonstrate a strong client-oriented approach and ability to understand and recognise client needs, together with;
- knowledge of internet and intranet research strategies, principles and techniques;
- knowledge of information and publishing techniques and design;
- advanced knowledge of tools such as library guides or other content management systems (knowledge of HTML to create web content an advantage);
- copyright law;
- strong verbal and written communication skills;
- high level of professional conduct and confidentiality;
- self-motivation and flexibility; and
- ability to prioritise work and a solutions focussed attitude.
