Full job description
Responsibilities:
- Organisation and maintenance of the firm’s hard copy and electronic library resources
- Ensure all legal team members are able to effectively use the firm’s library resources
- Monitoring usage and relevant of library resources to assist management with cost effectiveness and budgeting
- Liaising with representatives from all the legal publishers to ascertain new products
- Reference work e.g. finding cases and legislation
- Recording and barcoding of new material to the catalogue
- Assist with conflict checking
- Scope to provide assistance to the corporate services team
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in librarianship (or equivalent)
- Associate of the Australian Law Librarians Association (ALLA) or belong to the Australian Law Librarians Association (ALLA)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional services environment
- Demonstrated strong research skills
- Demonstrated ability to acquire, analyse and apply new information quickly and determine its applicability to the firm
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously under guidelines and contribute as a member of the team
- Previous experience in using a library management system
- Computer literacy, particularly internet research and online law tools
